The truth behind making money online…

"Shh, We're Hunting Wabbits." Let's get the low down on making some money.

It’s an interesting dynamic of sales and human behavior.  Everyone wants everyone else to be honest but they themselves stretch the truth.  Or… everyone wants people to tell them the truth but then when they tell them the truth it makes them so nervous they don’t want to listen anymore.

This happens with long sales letters with online programs.  Nobody likes them but at the same time you’re too impatient to actually listen to the entire video they have going at the top to placate you so you scroll through the material to read it for yourself.  You just can’t please people!   So what do you do???

You stop trying.

That’s what I do and it seems to be working all right for me, anyways.  You see?  Even right there I planted a seed that said that I was successful and now you want to listen to more of what I have to say even though I said I don’t care to try and please everyone.  Here’s the truth.  It’s all about human behavior.  There is no “magic bullet” behind making money online.  You’re dealing with the same people who you’re trying to sell at that job you hate.  The main difference is you’re having to communicate that message through different media.  With video you can talk to them the way you would in person but you’re nervous because you can’t read their expressions to know where to angle your story.   At the same time there are a lot of crooks out there the internet is also making people more honest.  Because no one trusts anyone anymore you really have to put all of your cards on the table.

Don't ignore the truth and don't be a loner. Partner with someone. It makes all the difference in the world.

That being said…  “The truth behind making money online” is as follows…  It’s difficult but at the same time easy.  I don’t want to say that something is hard because then I’ll create that reality and I don’t want to do that for myself or for you.  I also don’t want to simply say it’s easy because it paints  another reality that’s not true.

96% of people trying to make money online don’t succeed.  That’s a lot.  Good ol’ Affiliate Marketers that number jumps to 98%.  MLM “ers” are doing better and only 96% of them don’t make money compared to the affiliate marketers!  So what do we do?  I’ve made money online and continue to so does that mean I’m the guy you should listen to?  Well, who are the 96% people listening to???  The SAME people that the 4% who are making money are listening to!!!!!!   The difference is the person.

I was talking with a guy the other day and he’s been online for 2 years and hasn’t cracked $1000/month in 2 years!  He averages around 200.  As I was beginning to trouble-shoot some things he said, “I don’t want you to fix it, man.  No offense, I just don’t want that.”   I WASN’T EVEN CHARGING HIM!!  What in the world was going on?  So many people are “hearing” what people are saying but they’re not “applying it” or really “listening” to it.

The truth behind making money online is that you really have to apply what you hear and realize that it does take work.  I’ve spent many many many hours working on my online business and even more so than my offline businesses but the difference is that with my online businesses they literally continue to operate and work when I’m not and require very very little maintenance if I didn’t enjoy tweaking things.

It’s a short and to the point post.  Listen, repeat, and apply.  Don’t be a hard-headed loner that never listens to anyone.  That defines 96% of people who want to keep 100% of everything.  Remember this quote:

“100% of $0 is $0.  50% of $100 is $50.”

The point is that if you work with someone you’re more likely to make “some” money than no money.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Make it a great day.

Make Money from your Mistakes…

Most people focus on the first two M's a bit too much. That third one is where it's at =)

I guess this is the 3M’s post.  I’m going to coin that right now…

Remember the 3M’s.

“Make Money from your Mistakes”

The idea here that is most important to all of your successes is that most of us are trained to be nervous and to fear failure.  There are several quotes that are worth taking a look at.

The 3rd M is great but you gotta be careful with her. She's the one that is the most lucrative but also the one that can be most detrimental.

The first quote is the one that says, “The righteous man falls 7 times and gets back up.  The key thing to focus on here is that the righteous man falls.  When we idolize people, figures, etc. we tend to look at how “perfect” they are or or how perfect they appear.  Michael Jordan had an awesome perspective on how he performed the way he did and that is that he scored the most points but often times was the one that attempted the most shots.

The goal is not that you do everything “right” with your businesses but that you get back up.  Let’s talk about how to directly apply that to your online business (you can apply this to your offline business as well but here is a more direct example).

For me, when I started working online I ran into so many obstacles my wife and I couldn’t believe it.  I hadn’t worked that hard since I was doing doctoral work in college!  It was unbelievable.  In addition to working the hardest I’ve ever worked, I had also the  most obstacles I’ve noticeably had.  But here is the key for you and here was the key for me.  In those moments I knew what I was working for and working towards.  On top of that I made notes of all of the areas where I made mistakes and where I did something wrong, costly, or just plain dumb and I made recordings of them and shared those notes.  Those notes and recordings I turned into a “coaching program” for everyone who started with me to begin working from home and on the internet.  THAT’S how you Make Money from  your Mistakes.  Turn those mistakes into something profitable.

Here is the second concept.  Turn those mistakes into something that is going to help someone else.  I told my wife every day, “Every problem I run into and every frustration I have I’m not going to waste.  I’m not going to hold onto them myself.  Every problem and frustration I have I’m going to make sure the next person never has to experience them!”

That statement helped me to remain positive and it also helped me to create better content because I knew who and what I was creating it for.  I also made a note that once someone went along with my coaching and were “members” that I was going to keep sharing whatever else I discovered with them and truly “take care of” them.  This concept alone will help you to build rapport with your customers, treat them with respect and concern, and truthfully put out a product that would benefit them and not just try to take money from them.  Keep that in mind and you’ll find that more money will flow into your pockets than if you just went after money alone.  The core of business is service.  And that service is truly caring for and taking care of your customers.

Make it an awesome day!

The 80/20 Rule

Put this into effect and you'll be working your 4-hour work week too!

This rule here is a rule that you never want to forget for the rest of your lives.  It’s called the “80/20 Rule”.  I’ve got a video for you that is from the “Inner Circle” group of coaching that I needed to give you today because this is something that needs to be solidified within our community with everything that you’re doing.

This concept was brought to my attention by Robert Kiyosaki, the auther of “Rich Dad Poor Dad”, “Cashflow Quadrant”, and a few others.  I’m sure my wife would get me for not underlining these titles but this is what makes sense to my mind right now so I’m moving on =)=)

The other gentleman who brought this to my attention is Timothy Ferris, the author of “The 4-Hour Work Week.”  I absolutely recommend this book because it changed my life and can help point you in the right direction as well.

All of my talking couldn't have summed up this principle any better than this pic!

To make this specific for what we’re doing here online I’m going to cut to the chase and tell you that 80% of your time should be spent on Driving Traffic to your site.   20% of your time should be spent on Back-end products and other developmental areas.  The key to making sure you’re able to spend that time driving traffic to your site is to make sure you have everything running for you so that you don’t have to send emails all day long and be a cashier at a store front.  Tellman Knudson is truly bringing this point home all day long!  Bringing people to your squeeze page or your splash page or where ever you want people to see your business or product is the focus.

That’s all I wanted to get to you today, here’s the video talking about this principle in a little more abstract but effective way =)

Take a look at this book! Better than that, apply it and wait for the magic!

Watch this video and begin looking for ways to implement this into your life right now because the sooner you do this the sooner you’re business can grow and the sooner you can start enjoying what you’re working on because you know it’s effective.

2nd Part to "How to start a blog"

Here is the second part to “how to start a blog”.

Keep feeding me those questions and I’ll take care of you and keep you moving forward.

There is a concept and a saying in the Talmud that “No man can be his own salvation”.  What that means is that just because I’m a “personal trainer” that doesn’t mean that I’m necessarily

Even this Superman might need some help some day! He does look like he has it covered though...

in the BEST shape and that I  don’t need a personal trainer myself.  In the same way, your questions, suggestions, everything are very helpful, appreciated, and needed by me and I appreciate when you are a part of what is going on here.  I honestly thank you because you’re helping me as well.

Enjoy the vid.  Here’s the link.

List building…

Hello, hello, hello!

I’m really excited to be able to communicate to you via this blog and get you some good information, an awesome community, and most of all, encouragement.

Not a lot of people talk about that but one of the biggest thing you’re going to need is motivation and encouragement.  It begins to be a bit counter-productive when the autoresponders keep coming in telling you to buy the product.  It’s great to get good information, products, etc. and I’m all about autoresponders myself, but it can begin to drown you a bit.  So here is some fresh air =)

I want to talk about online stuff today and not personal mindset right now.

When I talk about “List-building” I’m talking about how many people you have that have “opted in” to your message, product, or topic that you can send an email to and communicate with.

All of the gurus have HUGE lists.  That means if they send one email out to 50,000 people that they’ll get a decent return with a certain percentage buying what they’re talking about.

Here’s how you begin if you don’t have a list already.

You can purchase someone else’s list…  that means that you pay them to send an email with the link to your product.

If you have a small list of 50-100 you can swap… that  means that you email your list their product and they email their list your web page link.

One website that is a good place to find other people with this is :

http://www.warriorforum.com

Another that I just found out about 5minutes ago is

http://www.jvnotifypro.com (go to “joint venture forums”)

Check them out, locate areas where there are other people looking to build their list and start communicating!

If you have any questions let me know.
